Results are in! This race was so, so, so dang fun. Highlights: running with my bro in Super Stout costumes (thanks, Dollar Tree), recording reenactments of Adam Samberg's "On the Ground" sketch at every single water stop, talking and laughing with tons of runners along the way and trying to talk them into doing ridiculous stunts with us, taking pics with priests, and, even after all of our goofiness, still finishing in a decent time, just 3 minutes over my PR. No complaints for this free race!
Official results: 1:48:48, 34th place in age group, 148th lady, 567th overall
Wow! Congrats on a great finish time in a JUST FOR FUN race! Incredible!
ReplyDeleteThanks! Sometimes I think all the fun makes me run a little faster in between.
DeleteCan you PLEASE post these videos of "On the Ground"? My husband and I LOVE that sketch!!!! :)
ReplyDeleteYes, my brother has all of the video, but I'm hoping he'll send it to me soon. I think we may have annoyed some innocent bystanders in the process, but we also made other people laugh.:)
DeleteNice run!! Love your costumes!! Totally perfect!
ReplyDeleteWay to go!!! Awesome time!!!
ReplyDeleteThanks for stopping by my blog, and glad you had a great race! I loved it too! I'm so happy to have found your blog. There aren't many Southern running blogs, so I get excited when I find one! I'm a new follower. :)
ReplyDeleteSo true! I love finding other southerners too! Also, a group of girls and I are headed up to Oak Barrel. Are you still planning on that race?
DeleteCONGRATSSSSS!!!!! That's a fab time and look how you kicked the collective butt of your age group!
ReplyDeleteCongratulations on a great race! I will definitely be racing this one again next year!
