Thrift store Thursday, a fail

Sometimes it helps to try things on before you buy them. The artwork that you thought looked cool on the hanger might not translate well on your chest. When I made my husband look at this shirt to see how misplaced this graphic was for a lady, he didn't seem to think it was a big deal. Um, well, I felt like it was similar to the jogging pants with words like "juicy" stitched across the butt. There could not be a classier way to draw attention to your rear. Same here, if I was interested in classing up my chest area with some infinity graphics, I would definitely keep this shirt. Obviously, I'm not wearing my Handful bra in this picture, but if I was, it might be easier to see what I mean.

Luckily, Alabama Thrift accepts returns for in-store credit. If they ask the reason for my return, should I say that it didn't go well with my (non)boobs?

What was your last purchase that you realized was a mistake AFTER you got home?

  1. LOL!

That's a pretty liberal return policy for a thrift store! I would assume if you didn't like it you'd be screwed/have to just "return" it in the form of donation.

    1. It is! As long as the tag is still on it and you have the receipt, they'll give you in-store credit. So no cash back, but since we'll be going there again anyway, it's decent.

  2. I bought some yoga pants online and they looked really cute online. When I got them, they just weren't my style. I still have them and have never worn them. Hate that!

    1. That's why I always get nervous to buy online. Unless I'm making a repeat purchase like running shoes, which my husband swears should last longer.

  3. Yeah..I don't think you can wear that shirt considering the graphic location!!!

    2. I guess you could use it as a night shirt!!! ha ha ha! But if the husband "doesn't get it" then it would be pointless.

    1. That sounds like a returner! I am very picky about wallets in the last few years. I spent two years looking for the one with every feature I wanted. It has to be good because it holds lots of valuable stuff!!

  5. Oh my cries! That is fantastically awful!
I bought a NEW skirt at the thrift store a few weeks ago and tried it on over my clothes. Well, apparently I am smaller without a pair of shorts on, who knew? And my cute new skirt is way too big. Sad panda. My thrift store does not accept returns. Sadder panda.

    1. Aww, sad! Maybe you have a friend in need of a cute skirt. That could at least bring a little joy back into the whole deal.

  6. Oh my word. Lol. Well, not quite as bad, but I got some pink gingham Jcrew shorts that I'm just not feeling. Awkard length!

  7. Oh this is sooo timely! I was just last week helping my son relocate and bought a t-shirt with his new town's name on it. There was no mirror at the store and no dressing room. I got home and am not only less than thrilled with the shirt but it seems to already have a spot on it that I don't know if was there before I got it or not. Sigh.
