Division place: 11/469 (dang, so close to top 10)
Gender place: 30/2823
Overall: 31/2911 (yes, there were a few dudes running)
The playlist favorite of the race: The Fighter
Most cramped body part: calves and feet. Darn you, Nashville hills!
Thanks, Donna (fellow Birmingham-ite at the race), for this pic! |
More info to come on the race, fellow bloggers I met (spoiler: they were awesome), and the expo/race.
But most important is that these results mean that McMillan says I now have the possibility of a 3:35 marathon. And if a soulless calculator says something, it's always true. Never question that.
Awesome job! Erica
ReplyDeleteGreat race! And that's excellent news on the calculations!
ReplyDeleteROCK STAR!!!! Push on mama, can't wait to see how this manifests into your marathon!!
ReplyDeleteSO excited for you! Congratulations!!!! Many exclamation marks!!!!!
ReplyDeleteCongratulations! Rock On!
ReplyDeleteCongrats Momma....that's awesome! Enjoy your accomplishment! :)
ReplyDeleteGreat job! Congrats, all the hard work is paying off
ReplyDeleteCongrats on the speedy race!
ReplyDeleteHot dang! Nice job! But seriously why do you look so nice and normal after a half. Where is the crazy hair, the weird sweat marks, it is just not fair I tell ya. ;)
ReplyDeleteI put about 30 hair ties in there so that it's like concrete buns! Plus, that was about 30 minutes after I was done so I could smile again. Before that I was like, should I vomit on this volunteer or in the bushes? So many choices.
DeleteCongratulations! Awesome speedy time. And I'm all about believing in McMillian!!
ReplyDeleteSo inspirational!!! Amazing job!!!
ReplyDeleteCongratulations! That's fantastic.
ReplyDeleteI think McMillan's underestimating you. He doesn't even know about how this was *just* a tune-up race!!
ReplyDeleteCongratulations!! I'm so excited for and inspired by you. :)
Awesome job speedy lady!!
ReplyDeleteClose to top 1 percent!!?? Pretty spiffy!! "Birmingham-ite"? Just can't let you get away with that one. Respectfully suggest Birminhamian.
ReplyDeleteHa! You know that making up words is one of my favorite parts of blogging!:)
Deletecongrats on a fabulous race! can’t wait to read more. and i’m all about the mcmillan calculator. something to believe in and focus on, even if it is just a calculator. :)
ReplyDeleteGreat confidence builder... and McMillan is always right :) Looks like you had awesome weather too. Cannot wait to hear!
ReplyDeleteWoo hoo, speedy legs! Congrats on a faaaast race, Yo Mama!
ReplyDeleteGreat work!! Your on your way to Boston!
ReplyDeleteCongratulations! I saw you on the course and wanted to shout out "Yo Mama!!" but didn't since you had your music playing. :) You did AWESOME!
ReplyDeleteYou should have said something!!! I needed a great distraction from those hills. Hope you had fun! And are you sore still today because I totally am.
DeleteAwww, I would have loved to meet you! I told my runner husband last night (who is a MUCH more seasoned runner than me...this was my 1st half) that you're kind of like a runner celebrity for me since you're the first running mama blogging person I've ever followed (and the only one at this point). Please don't consider that weird. :) But YES, I am most definitely still sore today...
DeleteHa! Definitely let me know if we are running one of the same races again so that we can try harder to meet next time! And today is the first day I'm not saying "ouch" on ever step in the staircase.
DeleteCongrats! And PS you absolutely have a 3:35 in the bag, no question!! I already know this :)
ReplyDeleteThanks, everyone, for your positivity! It's contagious!
ReplyDeleteThat is awesome!!! Great job!!
ReplyDeleteoh, 2823.... i thought they said 4000 haha oh well, i was 1100 something. just gives me a time to beat next month, right? :) Rachael K
ReplyDeleteThey did say that! Maybe they were including the 5K people too. And next month will be colder too, which always helps me run better. Less sweating and feeling like I'm gonna die if the sun stabs my eyes one more time.
Deletealso i love that out of about 100 guys running only 1 of them beat you!
ReplyDeleterachael k
I saw a picture of one guy wearing a tutu. I hope he's the one who beat me!:)
DeleteWoo hoo! Awesome time! Congrats on a great race!!!
ReplyDeleteGreat job! I hate that we didn't get to meet up over the weekend. My legs are still a little angry from all the hills!
ReplyDeleteI'm so sad too! Eventually we are going to meet. Is Rocket City a little smaller than this one?
