Homemade arm warmers and the Oiselle giveaway winner

Watching the sun rise on a Saturday morning run is one of my favorite things. It's a double endorphin hit.

And it's better than staring at the fluffy clouds from my treadmill. Although this treadmill view isn't too bad either.

Thanks to my buddies and brother who inspired me to get going this morning for that six-mile run. I would definitely have hit the snooze button if that plan was not already set in motion yesterday. My stuffed nose and the cold weather were fighting me this morning, although I appreciated the cooler weather about halfway through the run. It is definitely freezing enough for arm warmers on outdoor runs now, and I of course forgot them.

When you don't have arm warmers, use socks.

I so needed the early-morning-run energy boost because in a few hours we're taking this show on the road for camping in the Talladega National Forest. Still trying to decide how I can pack as light as possible for taking a family of six out to camp. I think that layering the kids with all the clothes they need will help cut down on stuff. Just take off a layer to change clothes.

And most important, I didn't want to leave y'all hanging on the Oiselle giveaway. The winner is Michelle T. #59.

Contact me at for all the details, Michelle.

Thanks to all of you who entered and shared, and if you are new to ordering Oiselle, you can use the FIRSTFLIGHT coupon code for 10% off.

How do you pack light for camping? I need all the tips I can get.

What time of day do you usually run? I'm a mid-morning gym runner during the week (because my husband likes to take the early morning workout shift) and an early morning runner on Saturdays.

  1. Woo hoo! I won! Today is a good day. PR'd this morning at a 5k and now this.

  2. Umm...I don't pack for camping - that is one of those things I told my husband early on that I don't do.
    Have a great time!!!
    Oh - I always run/workout early (5 am ish).

    1. We did find a scorpion crawling around us at the campfire, so there's that.:)
